Scholarship for Class 11, 12, Diploma & Degree Students of the Wards of Beedi / LSDM Workers 2025: The NSP Financial Assistance for Education to the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM, Post-Matric 2025-26 is a scholarship initiative by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. It aims to support students from Class 11 up to the postgraduate level in continuing their education at any recognized government institution or university.

This scheme is specifically designed for the children of workers employed in the Beedi, Cine, Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Ore Mines, Chrome Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, or Mica Mines sectors. The key objective is to discourage child labor in hazardous industries by offering educational opportunities.

Eligible students selected under this scheme will receive financial assistance of up to ₹25,000 per annum.

Eligibility Criteria of Scholarship for Class 11, 12, Diploma & Degree Students of the Wards of Beedi / LSDM Workers

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be an Indian national.
• Be enrolled in a regular course of General or Technical education (including Medical, Engineering, and Agricultural studies) at a government-recognized institution.
• Be a child of a Beedi, Iron Ore, Manganese, Chrome Ore, Limestone, or Dolomite Mines worker, or a Cine worker with at least six months of service.
• Have passed the last qualifying examination on the first attempt.
• Have an annual family income that does not exceed:
  • ₹10,000 per month for supervisory and managerial employees and Beedi workers.
  • ₹8,000 per month for Cine workers.

The following students are not eligible for the scholarship:

• Those who have changed their academic discipline (e.g., pursuing a B.Sc. after completing a B.Com., a B.Com. after a B.A., or an M.A. in a different subject following a previous M.A.).
• Those who have shifted their professional field of study (e.g., enrolling in an L.L.B. after completing a B.T. or B.Ed.).
• Students enrolled in correspondence or distance education programs.

Terms and Conditions

1. Students who are already receiving scholarships or stipends from any other source are not eligible to avail benefits under this scheme.
2. Scholars must maintain a separate bank account in their own name. If it is a joint account, the scholar’s name must appear first.
3. A valid and active mobile phone number is mandatory for all candidates.
4. If more than one child of the same worker is applying, each must provide a different bank account number.
5. Each scholar must also provide a unique mobile number.

Cancellation of Scholarship

The scholarship may be cancelled under the following circumstances:

• If it is discovered that the scholarship was obtained through false or misleading information.
• If the scholar discontinues their studies, the scholarship will be terminated from the date of discontinuation.
• If the scholar changes their course of study or institution without prior approval from the Welfare Commissioner.
• If the scholar shows unsatisfactory academic performance, has irregular attendance, or is found guilty of misconduct during the academic year.
• If the scholar’s parent(s) cease to be employed as Beedi, Mine, or Cine workers.

Note:
In cases where any of the above violations are identified after the scholarship has been disbursed, the full amount will be recovered from the scholar’s parents without delay.
