• Should have taken admission in the first year during the year 2023 in Basic and Natural Science subjects in B.Sc./BS/B.Stat./B.Math/Integrated M.Sc./MS
• Eligible subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Geology, Astrophysics, Astronomy, Electronics, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Anthropology, Microbiology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanic Sciences, Ecology, Marine Biology, Genetics, and Biophysics
• Must not be receiving benefits under any other scholarship or grant during the course of this scholarship

Note :

• Students who have passed Class 10 or 12 from a school outside Haryana are eligible for the scholarship.
• Eligible students from outside Haryana must submit a Haryana domicile certificate.
• The domicile certificate requirement is exempt for students admitted to specific National Institutes:

  • Indian Statistical Institute (ISI)
  • Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER)
  • National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER)

 Promotion of Science Education Scholarship (POSE) for UG and PG Students 2023-24 offers the following benefits :

• B.Sc./BS/B.Stat./B.Math/Integrated M.Sc./MS degree (1st to 3rd year): ₹4,000 per month
• BS/B.Stat/B.Math/M.Sc./M.S./M.Math./M.Stat. degree (4th to 5th year): ₹6,000 per month

Selection Criteria :

First Priority:

• Students admitted to reputed National Institutes (IIT, ISI, IISER, NISER, DAE-CBS, IISc) in Basic and Natural Science courses.

Remaining Scholarships:

• Merit-based selection using the average percentage score in the Class 12 board exam in English/Hindi.
• Best of three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
• If the number of students in the first priority category exceeds the offered scholarships, the criteria for remaining scholarships will be applied.

Additional Weightage:

• Students who studied Class 11 & 12 in rural area schools receive an additional 2% weightage.
• Rural area schools are those within the jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayat.

Exclusion of Weightage:

• Students from elite rural schools (where fees exceed ₹1,00,000) do not receive the 2% additional weightage.

Score Boost for Less-Privileged Backgrounds:

• Average test scores may be slightly boosted for students from less-privileged backgrounds (e.g., non-elite rural schools).
• Example: A student with 90% in their 12th board exams might have their score bumped up to 92% to account for tougher circumstances.
