  • Scholarships are not available for any courses pursued abroad.
  • Claims for arrears or situations involving a gap of one academic session will not be entertained if submitted more than 12 months after the academic session for which the claim was made.
  • Students who discontinue their course within one month of registration will not be eligible for the scholarship.
  • In cases where a student is unable to appear for the annual examination due to serious illness, a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner, clearly stating the duration of illness, must be submitted to the Head of the Institution within three months. Resumption of the course may be permitted if the principal certifies that the student’s overall performance during the year was very good.
  • Students must enroll in the next class or course within three months from the date the results of the previous class/course are declared.
  • All scholarship rules are subject to change at any time.
  • To remain eligible, students must be promoted to the next class without repeating a year.
  • Scholarships are available for a maximum of four years and apply only to studies in India at the Secondary and Higher Secondary levels (Classes 9 to 12). Diploma or certificate courses are not covered under this scheme.
  • To continue receiving the scholarship at the Higher Secondary level, students must secure a minimum of 60% marks in the Class 10 examination (relaxed to 55% for SC/ST students) or its equivalent.
  • If a school/institution does not conduct exams at the end of Class 9 or 11, the scholarship for the subsequent year may still continue upon submission of a certificate from the Head of the Institution confirming the absence of examinations.
  • In instances of fraud, strict measures including regular follow-ups, investigations, and appropriate penal actions must be undertaken.
  • An annual evaluation study should be conducted to identify gaps and challenges that hinder the effectiveness of the scholarship scheme. Based on its recommendations, efforts should be made to address ground-level issues and improve the scheme, especially in low-performing states.
