Eligibility Criteria of GP Birla Scholarship 2023

Residing in West Bengal, meeting the following criteria makes one eligible for a scholarship:

• Graduated from the class 12 examination in 2023.
• Achieved a minimum of 85% from WBCHSE or 90% from ISC/CBSE.
• Enrolled in recognized Indian universities or institutions for undergraduate studies in fields like Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Law, Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretary, or Cost Accountancy.
• Demonstrates a family income below INR 3,00,000 annually. (Note: Exceptional cases may warrant a relaxation of the income criteria at the discretion of the Trustees.)
• Requires financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Benefits of GP Birla Scholarship

The selected candidates will receive the following benefits :

• Scholarship of up to Rs.50,000 per year to cover the tuition fees and hostel fees
• Additional one-time payment of Rs.7,000 towards the purchase of books in the first year of college

Note –  

• The scholarship is initially granted to students for one year, and its continuation depends on the student’s satisfactory performance in the preceding year, as evaluated by the Trust.
• This continuation can be extended up to a maximum of 4 years, subject to an annual evaluation and a limit of 4 years for the completion of the course.

Terms and Conditions of GP Birla Scholarship 2023

• The marks will be calculated as follows:
  • WBCHSE: Percentage of total marks out of 500 (as per results)
  • ISC/CBSE: Percentage of best of 4 papers out of 400 (one language paper compulsory)
• Applications must be forwarded through the Head of the Institution where the student passed Class 12 or where the applicant has taken admission.
• After submitting the application online, a unique application number is generated for future reference.
• There is no need to send a postal application if it has been submitted online.
